Art Programs & Competitions

In 2017, CTED introduced an Art Competition for students of the TKSHS Art Department to provide support for aspiring, young artists. It is common for Visual Arts students in Ghana to be overlooked or underfunded compared to other programs. The introduction of the Art Competition was created to foster an interest in the Visual Arts amongst students. The TKSHS students who have participated take great pride in creating beautiful works and presenting them to their peers across the school. CTED has continued to do this with the generous support of NYU Africa House Advisory Board Member Mr. Robert Holmes. In 2019 Akyerema Foundation joined in to support and expand the program to reward and encourage more students to develop their artistic gifts.
