Tweneboa Kodua - “The Sacrificial Legend” Play (2019)

In 2019, when NYU Deputy Provost C. Cybele Raver visited CTED in Kumawu, the TKSHS Literary Group put on a wonderful cultural display for her. They re-enacted the historical event of the ascension to the Kumawu stool by one of Kumawu’s most prominent chiefs, Barimah Tweneboa Kodua. The play entitled “Tweneboa Kodua: The Sacrificial Legend” is of great importance in Kumawu's cultural heritage. Once again, Prof Nyarko commissioned Dr. Appiah Adjei who wrote the screenplay to direct the performance.

When NYU’s College of Arts and Science Journalism class taught by Prof. Frankie Edozien visited CTED's Research Center in Kumawu, the TKSHS students performed the play for NYU students to learn about the local culture and history.
